Srinagar, Aug 29 (KNS): The Ministry of Minority Affairs on Saturday published the final list of Haj Group Organisers (HGOs) eligible for registration under the Haj 2027 framework, with 17 operators from Jammu & Kashmir making the cut across multiple categories.

According to an official notification issued under Notice No. HAJ-15/2/2026-HAJ-MoMA, the scrutiny committee has cleared applications received through the HGO Portal after evaluating them against prescribed eligibility norms—including document verification, financial criteria, and policy compliance.

The selected J&K entities include one Category-I non-lead operator, two Category-I operators, and 13 Category-II applicants—of which nine are experienced and four are new entrants.

Notable names in Category-I include Labaika Haj & Umrah Service (JK01762827), Alkhuddam Hajj & Umrah Services (JK01781527), and Al Hayat Hajj and Umrah Travel Services (JK01702527).

Among the experienced Category-II operators are Raj Baba Tour and Travels, Al Gazali Tours & Travels, Gazi Tours & Travels, Al Haramain Hajj and Umrah Services, and M/S Universe Travel Corporation, among others.

The new Category-II applicants cleared include Khadim Al Mecca Tour & Travels Pvt. Ltd., Anabia Holidays and Tourism, M.G Tours & Travels, and Leena Travels.

Key directive for Lead HGOs

In line with Clause 4.4 of the Haj Group Organiser Policy 2027, all selected Lead HGO applicants have been directed to form Combined Haj Group Organisers (CHGOs) within three days. Each CHGO must include at least one Category-I (Lead), one Category-I (Non-Lead), and one new Category-II HGO. The total quota per CHGO is to be kept as close to 2,000 pilgrims as possible, with preference given to HGOs that were part of respective CHGOs during the previous Haj.

The Ministry clarified that quota allotment has not yet commenced. “Once the formalities of formation of CHGOs are completed and quota allotment letters are issued, the same will be notified to the general public, after which bookings can commence,” the notification stated.

Notably, Haj 2027 is expected to see a significant operational framework, with the Ministry emphasising transparent registration and balanced regional representation. Further updates on quota distribution and booking schedules are awaited. (KNS)
