Budgam, Oct 9 : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar on Friday reviewed security and law-and-order arrangements at Charar-i-Sharief in Budgam district during the Urs of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), and appreciated the coordination between police, CRPF and civil administration.
‎
‎Speaking to reporters after visiting the shrine, Kumar said he had visited the site with his team to assess the security arrangements and functioning of the law-and-order system during the religious gathering.
‎
‎He said the police and CRPF personnel were working in coordination with the shrine’s administration committee, while the civil administration, ambulance services and Fire and Emergency Services were also performing their duties effectively.
‎
‎Kumar congratulated the personnel and officials involved in managing the arrangements for the Urs, which draws devotees to the shrine of the revered Sufi saint.
‎
‎He said he had prayed for peace, tranquillity and progress at the shrine and across Jammu and Kashmir, including for the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
‎
‎The IGP’s visit came as devotees gathered at Charar-i-Sharief to observe the Urs of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), revered as Alamdar-e-Kashmir.(KNS)
