Srinagar, Oct 21 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday issued a stern warning to those supporting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, saying security agencies would track them down wherever they hide and ensure action against them under the law.

Addressing the Police Commemoration Day observance, Sinha said the administration was determined to eliminate terrorism and its support networks from the Union Territory.

“Our goal is to identify and root out terrorism and every element associated with it in Jammu Kashmir. Today, we must resolve that we will not rest until this land is freed from separatist and terrorist elements,” he said.

Warning those allegedly involved in supporting terrorism, the Lieutenant Governor said, “I warn those elements within Jammu Kashmir who support terrorism that your days are over. Even if you attempt to hide in Pataal, we will find you and ensure that you are punished under the law.”

Paying tribute to police personnel killed in the line of duty, Sinha said their sacrifices had played a significant role in protecting national security and maintaining peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said thousands of Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel had laid down their lives fighting terrorism and their contribution would never be forgotten.

The Lieutenant Governor assured the families of fallen personnel that the administration would continue efforts to provide welfare assistance and necessary support.

“No honour or assistance can compensate a family for the pain of losing a loved one. Yet, it is the nation’s duty to honour their sacrifice not merely in words, but also through its conduct and responsibilities,” he said.

Sinha said the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces had played an important role in maintaining security and protecting the country’s integrity under difficult circumstances.

He also called for stronger measures against drug trafficking and narco-terrorism, saying dismantling such networks was essential for lasting peace.

Emphasising public safety, the Lieutenant Governor said preventing crimes against women and children, protecting vulnerable sections and ensuring timely justice for victims must remain among the highest priorities of law enforcement agencies.

He urged citizens to maintain communal harmony, unity and mutual trust while remaining vigilant against forces attempting to disturb peace.

Sinha also commended the police, Army and CAPF personnel for their service and dedication, wishing them success and safety in their duties. (KNS)
