Srinagar, Oct 04 : J&K Bank MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee today felicitated the Bank’s Football Team for clinching the title of the 20th J&K Martyr’s Memorial Football Tournament 2025 after defeating Kashmir Avengers FC in an electrifying grand finale played at TRC Synthetic Turf in Srinagar.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters, where MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee and Executive Director Sudhir Gupta congratulated the players, coaching staff, team-manager and sports-board for their outstanding performance and spirited teamwork that led the team to a string of victories during the tournament.

General Manager & Chairman Bank’s Sports Board Syed Rais Maqbool, General Manager & Vice Chairman Sports Board Rakesh Koul, Deputy General Managers Anup Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Bulla and Tanveer Hussain, AGM Bilal Ahmad Kuchhay, IRO Subuhi Yaseen, Team-manager Iftikhar Ahmad and other officers were also present at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO said, “You all truly deserve every bit of applause for delivering yet another title-winning performance. We remain committed to supporting football, as our players are the Bank’s true ambassadors on and off the field. Keep honing your skills and strengthening your stamina through relentless practice and hard work. Never let your guard down—keep the legacy alive and shining.”

In his remarks, Executive Director Sudhir Gupta emphasized the importance of nurturing sports as a means of promoting teamwork, resilience and youth engagement within the Bank’s culture.

Presenting the winner’s trophy and cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakh to the Bank’s MD & CEO, Chairman Sports Board Syed Rais Maqbool asserted that the team was committed to maintain the momentum and bring more laurels to the institution.

Notably, organised by J&K Police in collaboration with J&K Football Association, the football tournament witnessed spirited competition and remarkable sporting talent from across the region.
