Srinagar, Feb 16 : The Director of Tourism Kashmir, Syed Qamar Sajjad, on Monday conducted a surprise visit to the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) at Nowgam, Srinagar, to oversee facilities for general tourists, including the yatris of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.

The Joint Director of Tourism Kashmir, Waseem Raja, and AD Tourism, Nisar Ahmed, accompanied the Director during the on-spot appraisal visit. The Director took a detailed tour of the tourism estate-cum-facilitation centre and reviewed the various facilities available for tourists and yatris arriving in Srinagar via train.

The Director Tourism Kashmir issued on-the-spot instructions to concerned officers to ensure every facility and convenience is provided to the incoming tourists and yatris at Nowgam.Special directions were given regarding the immediate establishment of an information-cum-facilitation counter at the entrance of the TRC Nowgam for tourists and pilgrims of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. This will ensure they receive proper information and guidance about the various tourism-related facilities and services available across the valley.

The Director Tourism also enjoined the recreation wing of the Directorate to ensure the proper upkeep of the climbing wall at the TRC, organize tournaments for the youth in the coming days, and make it a regular feature henceforth. (KNS)
