Srinagar, Mar 5 : Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta has tendered his resignation, sources said on Thursday.
Gupta submitted his resignation on Thursday evening, they said, adding that the reasons behind the move were not immediately known.
He had taken oath as the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory on July 18, 2025, becoming the third LG of Ladakh since it was carved out as a separate Union Territory in 2019.
There was no immediate official statement from the Raj Bhavan in Ladakh or the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the resignation.
Gupta, a senior BJP leader, had previously served in various organisational and legislative roles in Jammu and Kashmir before being appointed to the constitutional post in Ladakh.(KNS).
