Jammu, Mar 11 : Northern Railway’s Jammu Division will attach an additional third AC (3AC) coach to Train No. 12426 Jammu–New Delhi Rajdhani Express on March 13, 14 and 15 to accommodate increased passenger demand, officials said on Wednesday.

The move comes as part of efforts to manage the rush of passengers and reduce waiting lists during the peak travel period, the officials said.

According to the railway authorities, the additional 3AC coach will provide around 72 extra berths per trip, allowing more passengers to get confirmed tickets on the route.

The coach is being temporarily added for a fixed period to ensure passenger convenience and improve travel comfort amid rising demand.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Division Uchit Singhal said the railways were committed to providing a better travel experience to passengers.

“The addition of the extra coach will increase capacity and help passengers travel more comfortably during the peak period,” he said.

The Jammu Division has advised passengers to check the latest train status and seat availability through the IRCTC website or the railway enquiry number 139 before travelling.

Officials said the railways continue to take steps to ensure safe and comfortable journeys for passengers on busy routes.(KNS).
