Srinagar, April 30 : Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid on Thursday arrived at Srinagar airport and proceeded to SMHS Hospital to visit his ailing father.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) granted him one-week interim bail.

The court directed that during this period, Rashid, who is in custody in a terror-funding case, may either visit the hospital where his father is undergoing treatment or remain at home.

It also ordered that two police officials in plainclothes will accompany him at all times. The court said no “undue visitors” will be allowed during this period, except immediate family members.

Rashid, the Baramulla Lok Sabha member who defeated Omar Abdullah in the 2024 parliamentary elections, is facing trial in a terror-funding case involving allegations of financing separatists and militant groups in Jammu and Kashmir.

He has been lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since 2019 after being arrested by the National Investigation Agency in connection with the 2017 terror-funding case.(KNS).
