Foundation World School students shine at zonal table tennis meet

Budgam, May 16 : Students of Foundation World School swept the top honours at the Zonal Level Table Tennis Tournament organised by the District Youth Services and Sports Council Budgam.

According to the press release issued to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the young athletes clinched gold medals across multiple singles and doubles categories in the Under-14 and Under-17 boys’ and girls’ sections.

In the Under-14 boys’ category, Mohd Ismail Wafai won gold in singles while the doubles gold was secured by the pair of Peerzada Rasik and Syed Reyan Ahmed.

The Under-17 boys’ singles title was bagged by Numan Bakshi, with Mohd Adnan Bin Younis and Ali Ahmad Bin Aijaz winning the doubles gold.

Among girls, Sara Mudasir claimed the Under-14 singles gold, while Hadiya Hilla and Maryam Khalid Bakshi won the doubles gold in the same age group. In the Under-17 girls’ doubles event, Maryam Aaliya and Syed Hafsa emerged victorious.

Sports officials present at the event appreciated the consistent performance of Foundation World School in nurturing sporting talent alongside academics.

The school has emerged as a prominent institution in Budgam for promoting holistic development through district-level competitions, the press communication further reads. (KNS)
