Srinagar, June 20 : The Jammu and Kashmir administration has reopened the historic Naranag Temple in Ganderbal district for devotees and tourists following a review of the security situation, officials said on Saturday.

According to officials, the decision was taken after authorities assessed the prevailing security conditions in the area and found them conducive for public access.

In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office said the temple has been opened for both pilgrims and visitors after a comprehensive security review.

The Naranag temple complex, located in the foothills of the Harmukh range in central Kashmir, is one of the region’s prominent ancient heritage sites and attracts visitors for its archaeological significance and natural surroundings.

Officials said the reopening is expected to boost tourist footfall and facilitate visits by devotees to the centuries-old shrine.(KNS).
