New Delhi, Jul 16 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday declared the results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) – NEET (UG) 2026, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied programmes.

Nearly 20 lakh aspirants appeared for the examination held on June 21 at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The test was conducted in 13 languages.

Asserting its commitment to timely admissions, the NTA in an communication accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the results have been announced well in time to ensure the medical counselling and admission schedule remains unaffected.

In a significant trend, women candidates dominated the merit list, comprising over 58 per cent of the total qualifiers.

Scorecards of all candidates are available on the official website — neet.nta.nic.in. The NTA has also published the full list of top rankers, state-wise toppers, category-wise cut-off marks (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, Gen-EWS, PwBD and PwD), and language-wise participation data.

As many as 138 candidates scored above 690 marks out of 720. Of these, over 93 per cent appeared for NEET (UG) for the first time, while 99 per cent were in the 17-19 age group.

The top 17 rankers, who secured more than 705 marks, come from eight States — Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

Qualified candidates have emerged from all 36 States and Union Territories, with Uttar Pradesh recording the highest number of qualifiers at over 1.7 lakh, while Lakshadweep logged 43 successful candidates.

State toppers from smaller Union Territories include Jigmet Yangchan Lamo from Ladakh (530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi from Andaman and Nicobar Islands (606 marks), and Fahmida Anees from Lakshadweep (573 marks). Every North-Eastern State also has its state topper, the NTA said.
