Srinagar, Sep 25 : Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Friday distributed appointment orders among 27 newly appointed AYUSH Medical Officers, urging them to serve people with dedication, compassion and professionalism, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Congratulating the appointees on their induction into government healthcare services, Itoo said joining the public healthcare system was not merely a professional milestone but an opportunity to serve people, especially those living in underserved and far-flung areas.
She said the appointment orders carried a responsibility towards the public and called upon the newly appointed officers to discharge their duties with sincerity, empathy and a strong sense of public service.
“Healthcare is ultimately about serving people with dignity and compassion. Every patient who approaches a healthcare institution places trust in the system and in the medical professional attending to them,” the minister said, urging the officers to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.
Describing the medical profession as a noble service, Itoo underscored the importance of the Health Department in public welfare and asked the appointees to understand their responsibilities towards society.
She stressed the need to strengthen healthcare delivery at the grassroots level, particularly in rural, remote and far-flung areas, and called for greater accessibility, accountability and commitment in public healthcare institutions.
The minister highlighted the role of AYUSH systems in complementing the existing healthcare framework and promoting preventive, promotive and holistic healthcare practices.
She urged the Medical Officers to utilise their professional expertise to provide quality AYUSH services and contribute towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir.
Itoo also emphasised close coordination with health institutions and field functionaries for efficient delivery of healthcare services and effective implementation of government programmes and initiatives.
Expressing confidence in the newly appointed officers, she said their dedication and sincerity would contribute to the government’s efforts to ensure accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services for all sections of society.(KNS)
