Srinagar, Sep 26 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday lauded the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) for restoring the sight of 220 patients during a mega eye surgical camp under ‘Operation Drishti’ in Tangdhar area of Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the surgeons and personnel of the AFMS for successfully conducting the camp in a challenging border area.
He said restoring sight to 220 people in an underground operation theatre in a difficult border area was a remarkable achievement.
Sinha said the dedication of the medical team, led by Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, embodied the true spirit of Operation Sadbhavna.
He said bringing advanced eye surgeries, including phacoemulsification, retinal and glaucoma procedures, to remote border hamlets ensured that no citizen was left behind.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the medical team for its commitment to providing specialised healthcare services to people living in remote border areas.
