Gulmarg, Oct 10 : Gulmarg, the world-famous skiing and adventure destination, is abuzz with excitement as international and national athletes participating in the Zabarvan Legends Series – Downhill MTB Competition have arrived, expressing admiration for the scenic beauty of the valley.
The participants reached Gulmarg on Thursday and described the destination as “a paradise for adventure lovers.” On Friday, the riders took their first official trial run following a press conference organized by the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA).
The event was presided over by Shri Tariq Hassan Naik, CEO of GDA, who was joined by Dr. Haroon Kar, Sam Hill (8-time World Champion), Matej Charvat (7-time Czech National Champion), and Jaspreet Kaur, Trustee of the Span Foundation, one of the sponsors of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO said that the Zabarvan Legends Series will be made an annual event to promote Gulmarg as a premier global destination for adventure sports. He extended appreciation to Sehan Shetty, Founder and Owner of Zabarvan, for choosing Gulmarg to host such a prestigious international competition.
The much-awaited Downhill MTB Race, the first of its kind in Gulmarg, is scheduled to take place on October 12, 2025. The event is expected to offer a thrilling experience for spectators and showcase Gulmarg’s potential as a hub for world-class adventure tourism.(KNS)
