Srinagar, Oct 26: Senior Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader and Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi on Sunday criticised the present government for failing to initiate recruitment drives, saying that lakhs of educated youth with multiple degrees are feeling helpless.

Speaking at the 4th Halla Bolle Conclave at Radisson Collection, Srinagar, Larvi said that despite promises made during elections, the government has not started any significant recruitment process.

“Youth in Jammu and Kashmir are totally disappointed. Many of them hold PhD, postgraduate, and graduate degrees, yet no recruitment has taken place so far. The process should have begun from day one, with advertisements sent to recruitment agencies for the betterment of our youth,” he said.

Larvi added that as elected representatives, it is their duty to raise the voice of the people who voted them into power. “After all, we were chosen by the people, and we must fight for their rights,” he added.

Reacting to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent comments on smart meter installation, Larvi said, “It would be better for Omar Sahib to speak thoughtfully and with understanding.”(KNS).
