Srinagar, Nov 18 (KNS): Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday urged the Centre to initiate meaningful dialogue with the people of Jammu & Kashmir, stressing the need to address the growing trust deficit, rising radicalisation among educated youth, and the aftermath of the Nowgam incident.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Bukhari voiced concern over the involvement of highly educated individuals in recent terror-related activities, calling for a thorough examination of the factors pushing youth towards radicalisation. He also criticised the administration for failing to tackle unemployment, saying the growing frustration among youth has become a national challenge.
Bukhari condemned the blast near Red Fort in New Delhi and expressed deep sorrow over the accidental explosion at the Nowgam police station. He demanded equal compensation for all victims, including civilians such as the tailor and the cameraman who lost their lives. “They should be recognised as individuals who died in the line of duty,” he said.
On recent political developments in Budgam, Bukhari clarified that local religious leadership, rather than party performance, shaped the outcome.
He urged the government to take concrete steps to curb radicalisation, address unemployment, and rebuild public trust in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
