Tackling Drug Menace a Vital Health and Social Priority: Minister Itoo

Srinagar, Jan 09 : Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education Sakina Itoo on Friday said that the pressing challenge of substance abuse must be addressed as a paramount public health and social concern.

The Minister as per News Agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) issued this directive while presiding over a high-level conference at the Civil Secretariat.

She laid out a multi-faceted action plan to tackle the issue, indicating that the government will intensify outreach programs and strengthen guidance and support systems.

Minister Itoo as per news agency (KNS) also instructed authorities to upgrade facilities at rehabilitation centers throughout the area. This effort is intended to enable more successful recovery and reintegration for those impacted she said.

During the meeting, Minister Itoo reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to ensuring prompt hiring, solid institutional backing, and a compassionate policy for at-risk groups, including individuals suffering from addiction. She emphasized that these actions continue to be of utmost importance for the government. (KNS)
