Srinagar, Apr 4 : The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly witnessed noisy scenes on Saturday following a sharp exchange between National Conference minister Sakina Masood Itoo and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra.
The confrontation began after Itoo blamed the PDP for the current political and administrative situation in the Union Territory, drawing strong objections from the opposition benches.
She held the party responsible for the developments that followed the abrogation of Article 370 and the challenges in governance thereafter, prompting protests in the House.
As the situation escalated, Itoo said her government believed in “action, not drama”, in an apparent swipe at the opposition, which further intensified the exchange.
The verbal duel led to brief disruptions before proceedings continued.(KNS)
