Gulmarg, Apr 20 : The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has ordered the re-sealing of at least six unauthorised structures in the tourist resort after violators resumed construction activities despite prior sealing, an official said on Monday.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the repeat violations were reported from Mahyan, Qazipora, Ferozpora, and Drung areas, defying statutory orders under the J&K Control of Building Operations Act, 1988.

In a communication addressed to the Tehsildar of Tangmarg, the GDA said field inspections corroborated that some of the violators, whose structures had earlier been sealed, have resumed construction in clear violation of the law.

“Such acts not only undermine the enforcement mechanism but also constitute a continuing illegality prejudicial to planned development under the Master Plan Gulmarg-2032,” an official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

A list of violators, including individuals from Srinagar and Tangmarg, has been enclosed with the directive. The GDA has sought a compliance report within two days, terming the matter as “urgent and of high importance”.

Authorities have been asked to immediately take necessary action for re-sealing of the said structures to uphold the rule of law. (KNS)
