New Delhi, Apr 23 : The Sports Ministry will organise a three-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Srinagar from Friday, with an aim to strengthen sports governance and youth development frameworks through enhanced Centre-State collaboration.
The event, which will conclude on Sunday, will be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) and will be led by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Minister of State Raksha Khadse, official sources said.
“The Chintan Shivir will serve as a high-level platform for structured deliberations aimed at policy alignment and institutional convergence,” a senior official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
The deliberations, sources said, will place significant emphasis on strengthening the sports ecosystem, with focused discussions on medal strategies and athlete development pathways under the Khelo India Mission.
Other key areas of discussion include improving Centre-State coordination through the proposed Khelo Bharat Niti and advancing systems for talent identification and grassroots sports development, they added. (KNS)
