Srinagar, April 28 : The official inquiry into the conduct of a senior lecturer, suspended following a student protest in Sopore, has been delayed beyond the stipulated 15-day deadline, with authorities yet to make the findings public.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir, in its order issued on April 13 accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) had set a 15-day timeline for the Joint Director of Education, North Kashmir, to complete the probe into Ghulam Hassan Mir, a senior Urdu lecturer. The deadline expired on earleir this week.

However, more than two weeks later, no report has been submitted or released, leaving questions unanswered about the incident that led to the lecturer’s suspension.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) Joint Director Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad confirmed that the inquiry was “still in process” but did not specify the reasons for the delay. He ended the call without providing any further details.

Meanwhile, the delay has raised concerns over transparency, with parents and student groups awaiting clarity on the matter. (KNS)
