Srinagar, May 3 : The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Higher Education has announced the schedule for admissions to Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUGP) and five-year Integrated PG programs with multiple exit options for the academic session 2026-27 across all degree colleges in the Union Territory, an official said.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that admissions will be offered in more than 60 major subjects across 142 government degree colleges based on 10+2 merit. Subject offerings will vary from college to college and will be displayed on the admission portal during preference filling, the official added.

According to the official, the centralised admission portal — jkadmissions.in — will go live on May 9, 2026, with the registration and preference filling link opening at 10:00 AM and closing on May 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

The first merit list (Round-1) will be published on May 30, followed by admission formalities and fee payment from June 1 to June 6. The second merit list (Round-2) will be released on June 9, with formalities scheduled from June 10 to June 15. A spot round for leftover seats will be held from June 18 to June 25, the official said.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), Dr. Shiekh Ajaz Bashir, Director of Colleges, J&K, said winter zone colleges will complete the process by June 15, while summer zone colleges have a deadline of July 15, 2026.

He said aspirants need to upload scanned copies of Class 10 and 12 marks cards, a recent passport-size photograph, Aadhaar number, and domicile certificate, if available. Category certificates under process or pending with the competent authority will not be accepted, the official said.

He said a non-refundable registration fee of ₹200 will be charged.

The official further added that counselling and facilitation centres have been set up at all degree colleges to assist aspirants in form submission and preference filling. The detailed admission notice and registration manual are available on the official website jkadmissions.in. (KNS)
