New Delhi, Jun 1 : Senior IPS officer Vidhi Kumar Birdi has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on central deputation.

Birdi, a 2003-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been posted against an existing vacancy in the country’s largest paramilitary force, according to an official memorandum issued by the MHA accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

The competent authority has approved his appointment at Level-14 of the pay matrix under the usual terms and conditions of central deputation, the order said.

The ministry has directed the concerned authorities to relieve the officer immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre.

Birdi has held several key policing and administrative posts in his career so far. His appointment is expected to strengthen the leadership cadre of the CRPF.

The memorandum was issued by Under Secretary Sanjeev Kumar the order further reads. (KNS)
