Sopore, Jun 3 : Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, S.F. Hamid, has assured residents that all basic welfare, infrastructure, and sanitation demands raised during the weekly Block Diwas at Tarzoo will be taken up on priority.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) after a public interaction at Tarzoo, the DC said he listened to grievances related to roads, sanitation and civic amenities. The Tarzoo Development Forum also presented its views during the meeting.

“The administration will start work on the issues raised by the public. They put forward their views in a well-organised manner,” the DC said.

He added that local youth raised demands related to sports infrastructure, including upgrades to the Sheikh-ul-Alam ground and the construction of additional playing fields. The DC also acknowledged their role in advancing the campaign for a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior citizens of Tarzoo, including social activist Aijaz Ahmad Dar, Youth Forum president Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, activist Mudasir Gul, and other senior members of various village forums, raised issues related to welfare and development of the area.

Speaking to KNS, social activist Aijaz Dar said it was a historic moment for the area as the DC reached out to them with the full administration. He said many issues related to welfare and development were raised during the meeting.

He also thanked all officers under the leadership of the DC Baramulla for listening keenly and assuring early redressal.

Youth Forum president Ishfaq Ahmad Dar said it was a dream come true to interact with the administration in their area. He said issues related to horticulture, agriculture, roads, sports, health and education were raised during the Block Diwas. The DC, he added, assured that matters related to development and welfare would be redressed at the earliest.

Activist Mudasir Gul called it a great initiative of the administration, allowing direct interaction with the public. He appreciated the keen interest shown by the DC Baramulla in addressing their concerns.

Notably, The weekly Block Diwas is part of the district administration’s public outreach initiative to fast-track development at the block level. (KNS)
