Srinagar, Sep 23 : The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet on Wednesday recommended to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that the Legislative Assembly be convened on October 13.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and attended by all ministers.

Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmad Dar said the government has proposed that the autumn session may continue for about a week, concluding around October 20. “We have forwarded the recommendation to the Lieutenant Governor, and hopefully the session will last for a week,” Dar told KNS.

Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, however, said he had not yet received any official communication. “Once the notification reaches my office, further proceedings will be initiated,” he told .(KNS).
