Srinagar, Sep 13 : Day temperatures in Kashmir rose to around 32 degrees Celsius on Sunday, even as the Meteorological Department forecast light rain and a change in weather conditions over the next 24 hours.
According to the weather department, most parts of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to remain dry and warm on September 13.
However, a change in weather conditions is expected between September 14 and the evening of September 15, with light winds and scattered rainfall likely in several areas.
The department said weather conditions were expected to remain mostly dry after September 20, providing relief to people and farmers preparing for the harvesting season.
The rise in daytime temperatures over the past few days has brought back warmer conditions across the Valley, with temperatures recorded considerably above normal in several places.
Srinagar and Kupwara recorded daytime temperatures of around 32°C, while Kokernag and Qazigund also recorded temperatures close to 30°C.
The forecast of scattered rainfall is likely to bring some relief from the prevailing warmth, while the weather is expected to settle into mostly dry conditions later in the month.(KNS)
