Srinagar, Jul 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Hotels Club (JKHC) on Saturday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government Polytechnic College for Women, Srinagar, to enhance skill development and employment opportunities for young women in the Union Territory’s tourism and hospitality sector.

In a statement, JKHC Chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya said the club would extend full support for training girl students in hospitality-related trades, adding that every possible avenue for placement would be explored in hotels across Jammu and Kashmir.

“Dedication, honesty, and hospitality should be the guiding principles for young entrepreneurs in every field,” Chaya said.

College Principal Imtiyaz Ahmed Shaw and all departmental heads were present on the occasion. Senior office-bearers of the club, including Vice President Tariq Ghani, Treasurer Nasser Khan, and Joint Treasurer Murad Kapra, also attended the event.

Tariq Ghani thanked the polytechnic administration for organising the programme and extending facilitation to the club’s office-bearers.

The MoU is seen as a step towards bridging the gap between academic training and industry requirements in the hospitality sector, which is a key driver of the UT’s economy. (KNS)
