Srinagar, Sep 22 : Jammu and Kashmir Bank will soon issue a recruitment notification for appointments to the posts of banking assistants and officers in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, J&K Bank Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said on Tuesday.
Speaking at the bank’s 88th Annual General Meeting at SKICC in Srinagar, Chatterjee said the recruitment process was being taken up after 2021 and that the bank had completed negotiations and signed an agreement with the agency that would conduct the examinations.
“The bank will come out with a notification for recruitment for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. After 2021, the bank is going for a recruitment of both assistants as well as officers into the bank,” Chatterjee said.
He said the agreement with the examination-conducting agency had been finalised and the recruitment notification would be issued within a few days.
”The negotiations and the signing of the agreement with the agency which will conduct these examinations are over. Our bank will come out with a notification in a few days,” he said.
On recruitment outside Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Chatterjee said the bank would broadly follow its earlier practice, with the possibility of hiring a limited number of employees based on local language requirements.
He said the bank has a presence in 22 states outside Jammu and Kashmir and requires employees with proficiency in local languages to serve customers in those areas.
“The bank may decide in future to hire only a few number of employees to support our existing staff strength, specifically on the language issue,” he said.(KNS)
