J&K Government Posts 30 Awaiting Doctors to Fill Critical Health Vacancies

Jammu, Jul 7 : The Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department on Tuesday ordered the posting of 30 doctors who were awaiting adjustment at the Directorates of Health Services in Jammu and Kashmir, in a major initiative to bridge critical manpower gaps and strengthen patient care across the Union Territory.

The order, issued by Commissioner/Secretary M. Raju, IAS, under Government Order No. 534-JK(HME) of 2026 accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) deploys specialist doctors, medical officers, and dental surgeons to various district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centres, and primary health centres against available vacancies.

Among the key postings, Dr. Nalini Birpur, Consultant Ophthalmology, has been posted to AH Chowki Chaura, while Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Tahir (MD Medicine) has been assigned to SDH D.H. Pora. Dr. Hibba Dar (MD Pharmacology) has been posted to PHC Sholipora, and Dr. Munaza Aman (MD Microbiology) has been sent to SDH Beerwah.

Dr. Madhu Bala (MD Pathology) has been posted to DH Samba, while Dr. Chandandeep Singh (MS Surgery) has been assigned to SDH Sunderbani. Dr. Iqbal Mushtaq Bhat (DNB Paediatrics) has been posted to SDH Uri, and Dr. Mairaj U Din Wani (MD Medicine) has been sent to SDH Tangdhar. Dr. Kirandeep Kour Raina (MS Ophthalmology) has been posted to SDH Jagti.

Dr. Rayees Ahmed Khanday (MS Surgery) has been posted to SDH Bhaderwah, while Dr. Renu Bala (MD Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion) has been assigned to DH Reasi. Dr. Tanveera Akhtar (MS Physiology) has been posted to the Mobile Blindness Centre, Rajouri, and Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad Dagga (MS Surgery) has been sent to Trauma Hospital Thathri.

Dr. Syed Raja Junaid has been posted to PHC Verinag, while Dr. Wasim Qadir (DNB Paediatrics) has been assigned to CHC Gurez. Dr. Shariq Hussain (MS Ortho) has been posted to DH Bandipora, and Dr. Humaira Aslam (MD Pathology) has been sent to SDH Sopore.

Dr. Parveez Ahmad Pandit (MD Biochemistry) has been posted to SDH Langate, while Dr. Gh. Mohd. Mir (MS ENT) has been assigned to SDH Tangmarg. Dr. Hina Ishaq (MD Psychiatry) has been posted to DH Budgam, and Dr. Romana Rashid (MD Hospital Administration) has been sent to PHC Hardpanzoo, Block Khansahib. Dr. Farooq Sideiq Dar (MD Pathology) has been posted to SDH Sopore against an available vacancy.

A total of eight dental surgeons have also been posted across various health institutions in the Kashmir Valley. Dr. Nowshaba and Dr. Shaista Naaz have been posted to PHC Sultandaki, Baramulla, while Dr. Mehraj Ahmed Kirmani has been sent to SDH Tangmarg. Dr. Amina Samoon has been posted to PHC Dangiwachi, and Dr. Sibat Mohammad Mujtaba has been assigned to PHC Trehgam.

Dr. Nusrat has been posted to PHC Magam, Kupwara, while Dr. Neelofer Jan has been sent to CHC Hajin. Dr. Ashiq Hussain has been posted to PHC Newa Pulwama, and Dr. Nowshaba has also been assigned to PHC Natnoosa, Kupwara.

The government has directed the Directors of Health Services, Jammu and Kashmir, to furnish a compliance report regarding the posting of these doctors to the Administrative Department within five days positively.

All postings are against available vacancies and have been made in the interest of administration and patient care, the order stated. The doctors have been directed to join their new places of posting immediately. (KNS).
