Srinagar, Jun 23 : The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department on Tuesday commenced the Spot Round admission process for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and five-year Integrated PG courses, offering a final opportunity for aspirants to secure seats in government degree colleges across the Union Territory for the 2026-27 academic session.

According to an official notification issued by the Directorate of Colleges, the Spot Round will remain open from June 23 to July 2, with admissions being conducted through two parallel channels — Walk-in admissions and online system allotment — based on seat availability and programme categorisation.

The Centralised Admission Portal (https://jkadmissions.in) will accept fresh registrations and preference submissions from all eligible candidates until June 26. The window is open to fresh aspirants who had not applied earlier, candidates already admitted in previous rounds seeking an upgrade to a better college or programme, and those who had been allotted seats but could not complete admission formalities.

Candidates who had voluntarily cancelled their admission after confirmation in earlier rounds have been barred from participating in the Spot Round.

Candidates allotted seats through either mode must deposit the prescribed fee online through the portal by July 1 and complete physical document verification at the allotted college within the stipulated window.

Fresh applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹200, while those already registered need not submit a fresh application.

Authorities have warned that any incorrect claim relating to marks, category, or eligibility may lead to rejection of candidature at any stage. Aspirants have been advised to regularly monitor the admission portal and the official WhatsApp channel for updates.

The Director of Colleges, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, has directed all concerned principals to ensure smooth conduct of the process. Any subsequent rounds, if necessitated by remaining vacancies, will be notified separately after July 3. (KNS).
