J&K ushering in new era of peace, prosperity: VP Radhakrishnan after Dal Lake visit

Srinagar, Feb 26 ; Lauding the transformation in the Union Territory, Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan on Thursday said Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a “new era of peace, progress, and prosperity” as he experienced the pristine beauty of Dal Lake on his maiden visit to the Valley.

C P Radhakrishnan, who arrived here to attend the 21st convocation of the University of Kashmir, took a morning cruise on the iconic lake today morning.

In a post on ‘X’, the Vice-President as per Kashmir News Service (KNS) described being captivated by the region’s natural beauty. “I experienced the timeless charm, pristine waters, and breathtaking natural beauty of Srinagar during a morning cruise on Dal Lake today,” he said.

Asserting that the region is undergoing a significant shift, C P Radhakrishnan stated he was impressed by the improved infrastructure and enhanced connectivity in the UT. He specifically credited the administration for its focus on eco-tourism and preservation of natural heritage.

“These initiatives have not only boosted tourism but have also ushered in a new era of peace, progress, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir,” the Vice-President said.

The Vice-President was received at the Srinagar airport by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and senior officials of the administration and police on Wednesday evening. (KNS)
