Srinagar, January 18 : The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board today organised a felicitation ceremony here to honour thirty academic high-achievers from its schools across the Kashmir division. The students, top performers in the recently declared Class 10 and 12 examinations of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), were commended for their exemplary results.

The event was presided over by the Chairperson of the Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi. She was accompanied by Board Member, Syed Mohammad Hussain, and Executive Magistrate, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin. Principals and administrators from the Board’s educational institutions were also in attendance.

During the ceremony, Dr. Andrabi presented mementos and certificates of honour to the meritorious students. A development report outlining the progress of the Board’s education department was also presented.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Andrabi attributed the outstanding academic performance to comprehensive reforms implemented in the sector over the past three years“This extraordinary success is the result of the broader reforms undertaken by the Board in education. We have worked diligently to foster a positive environment in our institutions through systemic reforms, infrastructural development, and robust accountability mechanisms,” she stated.

Dr. Andrabi praised the concerted efforts of teachers, management, and students, emphasising that the Waqf Board was a pioneer in implementing the National Education Policy across its institutions. She noted that these initiatives have led to a significant increase in student admissions over the last three years.

“Our journey from financial challenges to stability has transformed these schools into centres of excellence. We remain committed to further upgrading these institutions in the future,” Dr. Andrabi affirmed, assuring that the momentum of reforms and significant decisions in the education sector would continue.
