Srinagar, Sept 12 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti on Friday alleged that Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, a sitting Member of Parliament from Central Kashmir and a member of the ruling party, was reportedly denied permission by the administration to hold a meeting at the Town Hall in Anantnag.

Mufti, in a post on social media platform X, described the situation as “indeed unfortunate” and said that Mehdi had been invited by the Citizen Council to address the public.

She further said that while leaders such as Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah are raising concerns over the arrest of MLA Mehraj Malik, similar restrictions on an MP from the ruling party would reflect “double standards and political hypocrisy.”(KNS)
