Srinagar, Oct 12 : More than 40 per cent of civil works on the Additional Accommodation Block at Zila Sainik Welfare Bhawan in Batamaloo have been completed, officials informed Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo during an inspection on Monday.

Labroo, who also inspected the under-construction District Circuit House at Bemina, directed executing agencies to accelerate work on both projects while ensuring adherence to prescribed quality standards and stipulated timelines.

During his visit to Zila Sainik Welfare Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that the ground floor of the additional accommodation block had been completed, while construction work on the first floor was underway.

The project is aimed at increasing accommodation capacity and strengthening welfare facilities for eligible beneficiaries, particularly the children of ex-servicemen and martyrs who visit or temporarily stay in Srinagar for educational purposes.

Labroo directed the concerned officers to expedite the remaining works and ensure that the facility becomes operational at the earliest.

He said timely completion of the accommodation block would improve facilities for beneficiaries and strengthen the delivery of welfare services to the wards of ex-servicemen.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the construction of the District Circuit House at Bemina and reviewed the progress of various components of the project.

Officials briefed him on the ongoing works and the facilities being developed to provide cost-effective accommodation and related amenities for public, official and other designated purposes.

He directed the executing agency to accelerate construction and complete all components within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioners Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz and Aadil Fareed, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, IAS probationer Sai Kiran, Superintending Engineers R&B North Shabir Ahmad and R&B South Tatheer Manzoor, SDM West Seerat Baji, SDM East Zubair Ahmad, ACR Umar Gulzar, Executive Engineers R&B Fareed Khan and Abdul Qayoom, Executive Engineer KPDCL Third Abrar Hussain, Executive Engineer Water Works Aijaz Rafiq, Tehsildar South Sajad Rasool, Tehsildar North Syed Shahid and other concerned officers.
