Srinagar, Apr 29 : PDP leader Iltija Mufti on Tuesday said National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah had thanked her party over the Rajya Sabha seats, alleging that the party’s current position contradicts his remarks.
According to KNS, Mufti said Abdullah had publicly expressed gratitude to the PDP following the Rajya Sabha voting, and questioned whether the NC was now taking a different stand.
“Farooq Abdullah himself thanked the PDP after the Rajya Sabha voting. Is the NC now contradicting its own leader?” she told reporters here.
She alleged that attempts were being made to divert attention from key issues, claiming that the matter was being politicised.
Referring to the recent Assembly elections held a few months ago, Mufti also alleged that there were instances of cross-voting and said the issue was now being used to shift focus.
Mufti urged the media to ask “difficult questions” and seek clarity from the government on the developments surrounding the Rajya Sabha seats. (KNS)
