Srinagar, Nov 22 :Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Saturday said the long-awaited Sanatnagar flyover has reached its final stage, with load testing of one tube already completed and the second expected to finish by tomorrow.

Talking to reporters as per KNS, Labroo said that once the testing concludes, the project will be technically complete in all major respects.

He added that traffic planning is already underway with SSP Traffic, R&B officials, AXION, and SMC to ensure smooth movement once the flyover opens.

Labroo also said that the flyover will significantly ease congestion by offering a vital new route between two busy areas, complementing recent upgrades like the Noor Jahan Bridge.

He said that under the city’s scientific decongestion plan, long-stalled projects have been fast-tracked, DPRs for major works have been submitted, and enforcement measures are being rolled out in coordination with all stakeholders.

He also said that issues such as lighting at Sanatnagar and Bemina have been flagged, and SMC’s Joint Commissioner has been asked to inspect and address them.(KNS)
