Kupwara, Apr 9 : At least seven passenger buses were damaged, three of them completely gutted, in a fire mishap that broke out at bus stand in north Kashmir Kupwara district late on Wednesday night, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the blaze was reported around 11:27 PM, following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
He said after hectic efforts, the fire service team, along with police and locals, brought the fire under control. However, three buses were completely gutted, while three others suffered partial damage, and one was affected by heat and smoke, the official added, noting that no casualties or injuries have been reported.
A police officer told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that a case has been registered in this regard. The cause of the fire is being ascertained. The officer said that further investigation is underway. (KNS)
