Jammu, Oct 3 : The central government has appointed ten officers, including IAS officer Shah Faesal, as Central Prabhari Officers for Aspirational Blocks in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. These appointments are part of the Centre’s Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP), aimed at improving governance and development in under-served regions through focused administrative intervention.

Shah Faesal, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, has been assigned to the Tulail block in Bandipora district, Jammu and Kashmir. He is among eight officers posted in various districts across J&K under the latest appointment order.

The list also includes Ankita Anand, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Jal Shakti (Drinking Water & Sanitation), who has been given charge of the Marwah block in Kishtwar district.

Mujtaba Ahmad, Director in the Ministry of Mines, will be responsible for the Manzgam block in Kulgam. Vivek Gupta, Director in the Department of Financial Services, has been appointed to oversee development in Mankote block, Poonch.

Other officers appointed in J&K include Sushant Sudan, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, assigned to Wakoora block in Ganderbal; Harleen Kaur, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, posted to Khwas block in Rajouri; Gurmeet Singh, Director in the Department of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, appointed for Khari block in Ramban; and Nitish Suri, Director in the Department of Higher Education, who will look after Thakrakote block in Reasi district.

In Ladakh, two IAS officers have been appointed as Prabhari Officers. Ravi Dhawan, Director in the Ministry of Power, has been assigned to Karsha block in Kargil. Himanshu Gupta, Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy, will be responsible for Rupsho block in Leh district.

These appointments are aimed at accelerating development in aspirational blocks through better coordination, monitoring, and resource mobilisation, as envisioned under the Aspirational Blocks Programme.(KNS).
