Srinagar, Jul 4 : Srinagar airport will remain operational on all days, with the authorities withdrawing the proposed plan for a full airfield closure on Mondays and Tuesdays, according to an official update issued on Friday.

In a statement posted on its official social media handle, Srinagar Airport said there would be no full airfield closure this year and flight operations would continue daily during operational hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

The airport, however, said night-time runway closures for maintenance work would continue until October 2026.

“The previously proposed NOTAM regarding full runway closure on Mondays and Tuesdays is being withdrawn. Airlines will continue to update their schedules in accordance with the prevailing operational timings,” the statement said.

Passengers have been advised to check the status of their flights with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport and rely only on official sources for updates.

The clarification comes amid concerns over a proposed schedule of weekly runway closures for maintenance, which had raised the possibility of flight disruptions at the airport.(KNS)
