Srinagar to Get Scientific Traffic Decongestion Plan Soon: DC Srinagar

Srinagar, September 30 : In order to improve traffic management and decongestion in the city, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday said that a meeting was earlier held to finalize a practical plan to decongest traffic in a scientific manner.

Talking to media, as per Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said that traffic in a city like Srinagar cannot be decongested by taking just a few small steps. All line departments whether it is Traffic Police, Revenue, R&B, SMC, LCMA, or SDA need to come together and prepare a joint action plan. “Not a vision, but a practical plan with short-term, mid-term, and long-term measures,” he said.

He said that in the next 10 days, the plan will be finalized and submitted to the competent authority, the Divisional Commissioner, and the Government. “Only after that will implementation begin, so that traffic can be decongested in a scientific way,” he said.

“A few days ago, we held a meeting with all stakeholders of Srinagar city. The suggestions have been compiled and submitted to the government. Only after that will implementation take place, so that traffic can be decongested in a scientific way,” he added. (KNS)
