Srinagar July 11 : Strong winds swept through various parts of Langate in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday evening, causing significant damage to property and infrastructure.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said several cars parked along the roadside in the Qaziabad and Kralgund Market areas were badly damaged due to the collapse of rooftops and electric poles.

Additionally, multiple electric cables, rooftops, and other infrastructure were damaged across the area, resulting in a complete disruption of the power supply.

Police officials arrived at the scene and urged residents to remain indoors and stay away from damaged electrical infrastructure for their safety.

Restoration work has also commenced to clear the roads and restore normal traffic movement.(KNS)
