Srinagar, Apr 1 : Security forces neutralised a terrorist in an encounter in the Arahama area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, the Army said on Wednesday.

The joint operation was launched by the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday evening following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area, officials said.

In a post on X, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said the cordon was tactically reorganised during the night amidst intermittent firing.

“Own troops effectively retaliated with calibrated response resulting in one terrorist eliminated. Operation is in progress,” the post read. (KNS)
