Srinagar, Nov 09 : Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Sunday said that Srinagar MP Aga Ruhullah is in Germany while he and the party are in Budgam, among the people, fulfilling their aspirations.
Abdullah said he has never forced anyone to join an election campaign or refrain from doing so.
“No one can force him(Ruhullah). He chose to go to Germany. Maybe he likes the air of Germany better than the air of Budgam. We like the air of Budgam more,” Abdullah said.
He added, “We are among our people. We are listening to our people. We are fulfilling the demands of our people. That is why people chose us. They didn’t choose us to sit in Germany. We will continue to fulfill the demands of our people and solve the problems of our people.”
Abdullah said the Indian Institute of Management is running in Jammu, while the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Kashmir is not ready and will take at least two more years to be operational.
He referred to previous governments, saying that apart from destruction, they passed laws on GST, removal of government employees, and surfacing, but did not start work after 2019.
He said Mehbooba Mufti was the first to sign the BDP-BJP government orders, which resulted in firing of government employees, and that the community had not delivered to the people.
Abdullah said, “We are trying to fix that destruction and destruction. That is why I am not afraid of them. My only effort is that the people of Budgam get the right representatives for the next four years.”
He noted as per KNS that a single seat would not form or topple a government, and said, “The government has been formed. I am CM. I have to serve Jammu and Kashmir. But I want the people of Budgam to use their votes correctly and elect representatives who can live with the government and serve the people of Budgam.”
He said, “The closer Budgam is to Srinagar, the more Budgam still has a lot to do. My entire intention is that, together with Agha Mehmood, we will develop Badgam as a model assembly.” Abdullah said the campaign continues until 5 pm on Sunday, and voters should be encouraged to reach polling booths.
He said the party is fighting to win the elections and asked his colleagues not to assume victory before polling concludes.
“You don’t win any election before the polling. If any of my colleagues are sitting here in this misunderstanding that we have won this seat, please clear your misunderstanding. We will have to work hard,” he said.(KNS).
