Srinagar, Mar 18 : Weather conditions across Kashmir Valley are expected to stay unsettled over the next two days due to the influence of successive western disturbances, with improvement likely from March 20th, official said.

The Meteorological Department said light to moderate rain will continue in plains, while higher areas may receive snowfall. Some parts of Chenab Valley and South Kashmir may see moderate to heavy precipitation, official said.

Thunderstorms, gusty winds up to 50 km per hour, and isolated hailstorms are also possible, mainly in Jammu region.

Weather is expected to improve from March 20 afternoon. Dry conditions are likely from March 21 to 24, though skies may stay partly cloudy, he said.

He also said that another spell of rain and snow is likely between March 26 and 28.

For Eid, expected on March 20 or 21, weather will remain mostly dry, with a small chance of light rain in the late afternoon, he added.(KNS)
