Srinagar, June 21 : The Government on Saturday announced that all government and private schools in the region will observe summer vacation from June 23 to July 7.

Speaking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Director school education, GN Itoo said the extreme weather conditions have made it difficult for students to continue with regular classes. “The rising temperatures are taking a toll on students’ health and well-being.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelGiven the current situation, we have decided to begin the summer break earlier than initially planned,” he said.

The education department had earlier proposed a summer break from July 1 to July 10, but the schedule has now been advanced by a week in light of the ongoing heatwave.
“Instead of a 10-day break starting July 1, schools will now remain closed for 15 days starting June 23,” Itoo added.(KNS).
