Srinagar, Mar 18: The district administration of Baramulla has identified seven villages for development under the Viksit Bharat Vision 2047 programme for 2026–27, officials said.

According to an official communication from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Baramulla, the selected villages are Garkote in Uri, Kachew Muqam in Baramulla, Krankshuan in Wagoora-Kreeri, Sherabad Khore in Pattan, Waripora Bangil in Gulmarg, Tarzoo in Sopore, and Zaloora in Rafiabad.

The initiative aims to develop one model village in each constituency by improving infrastructure, strengthening delivery of public services, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, the officials said.

They said the proposal has been forwarded to the Director Rural Development, Kashmir, for approval.

The development plan has been prepared in the form of a detailed project report (DPR) with a proposed allocation of Rs 200 lakh, they added.

Officials said the selection of these villages is expected to promote balanced and inclusive development in the district, with a focus on improving rural living standards.(KNS)
