Srinagar, Sep 8 : President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to discharge the functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir during the absence of J&K LG Manoj Sinha, who is currently on leave.
‎
‎According to an official order issued by the President, Saxena will perform the duties of the J&K Lieutenant Governor in addition to his existing responsibilities as Ladakh LG.
‎
‎The arrangement will remain in place during Sinha’s absence.
‎
‎Sinha, who has been serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since August 2020, has proceeded on leave.
‎
‎Saxena was appointed Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh in July 2024, succeeding Brigadier (Retd) BD Mishra.
‎
‎The temporary arrangement allows the constitutional and administrative functions of the J&K Lieutenant Governor’s office to continue during Sinha’s absence.(KNS)
