Srinagar, Sep 8 : President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to discharge the functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir during the absence of J&K LG Manoj Sinha, who is currently on leave.
According to an official order issued by the President, Saxena will perform the duties of the J&K Lieutenant Governor in addition to his existing responsibilities as Ladakh LG.
The arrangement will remain in place during Sinha’s absence.
Sinha, who has been serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since August 2020, has proceeded on leave.
Saxena was appointed Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh in July 2024, succeeding Brigadier (Retd) BD Mishra.
The temporary arrangement allows the constitutional and administrative functions of the J&K Lieutenant Governor’s office to continue during Sinha’s absence.(KNS)
