Budgam, Oct 22: Terming him a single man, National Conference (NC) candidate Aga Syed Mehmood on Wednesday said that the absence of support from former minister and sitting Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi would not affect his performance in the ongoing Budgam Assembly by-election.

“The whole of Budgam is with the National Conference. A single person cannot change that,” he added.

Addressing a gathering, Mehmood said voters in Budgam should prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from gaining influence in the constituency.

He asked party workers to ensure the NC candidate’s victory in the ongoing elections and said votes should show public support for the party’s work.

, “You have to tell the Centre that the people of Jammu and Kashmir support the National Conference and want the party to continue its work. In Budgam, voters must keep the BJP away, and we have to ensure the NC candidate wins the elections.”(KNS).
