Budgam, Oct 22 (TKM): General Observer, Bhor Singh Yadav; Expenditure Observer, Ravinder Kumar and Police Observer, Nachiketa Jha for 27-Assembly constituency Budgam held a joint meeting at the Conference hall here to take review of the preparedness for upcoming Bye-Assembly election 2025 to 27-AC Budgam of the District.

The observers took an extensive appraisal of Returning Officer to 27-AC Budgam and Assistant returning officers for arrangements made by them for smooth conduct of Bye-Assembly election to 27-AC Budgam.

They held a detailed discussion about enforcement of MCC, expenditure monitoring, security plan, transport and communication plan, besides functioning of VST, flying squads, training of poll staff, AMF at polling stations, and other measures undertaken for smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Bye-Assembly polls in 27-Assembly constituency Budgam.

On the occasion, the General Observers enjoined the officers to work with added zeal and unwavering dedication to uphold the sanctity of the election process and safeguard the democratic spirit.

They also urged them to ensure strict enforcement of MCC and other guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure smooth, fair, and transparent conduct of polls in the District.

They stressed on proactive approach from all the stakeholders to encourage maximum voters so that enhanced voter turnout is registered during upcoming bye-elections in 27-AC Budgam of the District. They also stressed on completion of the EPIC distribution process in 27-AC Budgam.

The Expenditure Observer emphasised the need for coordination among various monitoring teams for effective expenditure overseeing and stressed the prompt reporting of any ECI violations concerning election expenditure booking.

He also underscored the efficient media monitoring to contain any misuse of election expenditure by the contesting candidates in the district and underscored timely reporting and uploading of any seizures or violations as per ECI norms.

The Police Observer stressed on the officers to work with utmost coordination to ensure incident-free and smooth conduct of the polls in 27-AC Budgam.

Earlier, the DEO Budgam , Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat apprised the observers regarding the preparations for the free, fair, and peaceful conduct of polls in 27-AC budgam of the District.

He said that 173 polling stations had been set at designated 111 locations across 27-assembly constituency Budgam.

The DEO said that model polling stations had also been set up at various locations in 27-AC Budgam to facilitate the voters on the polling day and welcome them to experience a festive-like environment.

He said that dedicated facilities for voters including clean drinking water and ramps for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are also meticulously arranged to enhance the voting experience.

Later, the observers visited the Control room, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at the DC office complex. They also inspected a strong room established at Boys Higher Secondary school Budgam.

The meeting was attended by the SSP Budgam, Nikhil Borkar; ADC Budgam, ASP Budgam, Returning Officer (RO) of 27-Assembly constituency Budgam, Dy. District Election Officer and all Nodal officers.(TKM)
